Planning ahead for your holiday meals? I highly recommend putting these Brown Sugar Biscuit Twists on your menu plan!
This recipe is one of our family’s very favorite recipes. I originally adapted it from an old, falling-apart Better Homes and Gardens bread cookbook my mom had when we were growing up. I’ve made these countless times and they are so easy to do and so yummy!
We like to serve these fresh out of the oven on Christmas morning. They are also great paired with an Egg, Ham, and Cheese casserole and fruit for a simple Christmas brunch.
As soon as I saw this recipe, I put it on my to do list. Today after church, I spent a few hours in the kitchen prepping food for the week, and when I was finished, I mixed these up. As we are a mostly plant -based family, I subbed a plant-based butter, and, just to see what would happen, I used some sprouted whole wheat and spelt flour along with regular, unbleached flour. They did not turn out nearly as beautiful as yours, but, oh my, are they delicious! I devoured three as soon as they were cool enough to not burn my mouth…well, almost cool enough…Thanks for the yummy recipe. These will likely replace my time-consuming tradition of homemade cinnamon rolls on Christmas morning!!
I’m so glad they were such a hit, and what a great idea with the plant-based substitutions! -Meg, MSM Team
Oh yay! I’m SO glad to hear that!!
I’ve made these multiple times the last couple years. We really like them! I suggest adding cinnamon to the brown sugar mix.
Great idea!! Yum! -Meg, MSM Team
That’s a GREAT tip!
We got this recipe from you many years ago. It is our Christmas morning breakfast tradition now. We serve them with cheesy scrambled eggs, little smokies, and orange juice! I must say that mine have never looked as pretty as yours.
Oh, how fun!! I’m so glad this is a recipe that’s worked for you and your family! -Meg, MSM Team
